Update:  I put together another pair of pants on Sunday and these turned out much better.  So much so, I may just keep the first pair and call them a prototype.  Perhaps give them to my sister's kid later in life for a doll.

I borrowed a sewing machine to make what looked like a reasonably easy first project for someone who's never really used a sewing machine. There are lots of little flaws on these, but overall, I'm happy that they came together and should likely be wearable by my sister's baby.  The pants are reversible with a contrasting fabric panel across the bum.

I bought enough material to make several pairs, so hopefully the others will come together more quickly.  Actually, I don't think it was the sewing I had problems with as much as realizing that with reversible clothes I'd have to make two identical sets of pants and sew them together.  It really goes back to using those scissors, damn!
